Imprint Method Descriptions

 

1. Silk Screen

Silk screen printing is used mainly for printing images onto t-shirts, tote bags, ceramics and other materials. The process involves creating a screen to be used as a stencil for applying ink to a print area. It's an especially cost-efficiant process for bulk orders. Imprint Method Options: Standard 1 Color, Multi-Color, 4 Color Process.

 

2. Pad Printing

Pad Printing transfers ink onto a 3D surface using a silicone pad. It's a useful method for applying designs onto objects that are curved, or have uneven surfaces. More than that, pad printing won't distort images or lose intricate design detail either. Imprint Method Options: Standard 1 Color, Multi-Color, 4 Color Process.

 

3. Four Color Process (Includes Colorbrite, Digibrite)

Four Color process printing uses filters and screens to seperate an image into 4 color values: Cyan, Magenta, Yellow and Black (CMYK). Each color is applied seperatelyto paper stock as tiny dots, which ultimately creates a visual effect of full color printing. Four color process printing cannot reproduce every possible color, and that's where spot colors and Pantone Matching System come in. Imprint Method Options: 4 Color Process.

 

4. Direct to Garment

Direct to Garment (DTG) printing uses ink jet technology to print textiles, like t-shirts. Unlike screen printing, where ink is pushed onto print material, direct to garment printing applies ink directly onto the garment using a print head. Ink absorbs into fabric with no distortion. Imprint Method Options: Multi-Color, 4 Color Process.

 

5.Dye Sublimation

Sublimation printing is a form of heat transfer, where images are produced first on sublimation transfer paper that is placed in a heat press with a substrate. Once heated, the transfer paper and the ink turn into a gas that permeates and ultimately bonds to the substrate. Imprint Method Options: 4 Color Process.

 

6. Heat Transfer

Heat transfer printing uses a combination of heat and pressure to apply materials to a substrate, like a t-shirt or tablecloth. The heat-applied materials have heat-sensative adhesive on one side, which adhere to the substrate and result in its decoration. Imprint Method Options: Transfer Printing.

 

7. Debossed

Debossing involves imprinting an image or design into a print material. It creates depressions within the material, lowering the image from the surface of the print. It's the exact opposite of embossing, which creates a raised effect. Imprint Method Options: Standard 1 Color.

 

8. Laser Engraved

Laser engraving uses a high heat laser to vaporize a material's surface, resulting ina design with visible depth. It's incredibly precise, making it a go-to option for customizing products (especially those made of metal, plastic, glass and wood). Imprint Color Options: Standard 1 Color.

 

9. Offset Printing

Offset printing transfers (or "offsets") an inked image from a plate to a rubber blanket, and from the rubber blanket to the print surface. It's a cost effective method to print large quantities while retaining excellent detail and quality. Imprint Method Options: Standard 1 Color, Multi-Color, 4 Color Process.

 

10. Embroidered

Embroidery allows you to customize a product with a threated design. Logos and smaller designs with simple color schemes work best. The process can cost more than traditional methods of printing, but embroidery is long-lasting and adds professional polish. Imprint Method Options: Standard 1 Color, Multi-Color, 4 Color Process.

 

11. 3D Embroidery

3D embroidery (or 3D puff embroidery) achieves dimension by first fixing foam to a garment before embroidering the fabric. The underlying foam raises the surface and gives depth to the design. Imprint Method Options: Standard 1 Color, Multi-Color, 4 Color Process.
